On April 22, 2016, a banquet took place at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in honor of the bright and deserving students who were recipients of the annual scholarships awards.  These scholarships are available to exceptional students who pursue education in the business field.  Our CEO and President, Mr. Freddy Russian, had the opportunity to give back to the university and community that helped him achieve his dreams.  He believes that every person can make a difference in their community, all they have to do is try.  Following is information about this year’s Freddy Russian Scholarship recipients, all of whom were selected by the University’s Faculty Scholarship Selection Committee:

  • Camila Beatriz Bazoalto Camacho– Camila is a sophomore from Bolivia majoring in Economics with a minor in Finance. She serves as the Secretary for the Association of Latin American Students and works part-time at the UCO Library. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society at UCO and also received the Dr. Sue Lynn Sasser Endowed Scholarship in Economics this year. 
  • Evrard Koffi– Evrard is a Senior from Cote D’Ivoire majoring in Energy Economics with a minor in Finance. He is President of the African Student Association and a volunteer with the Red Cross Club at UCO. He has previously received the Dr. Michael Metzger Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Economics and the David and Kay Bickham Endowed Scholarship for International students and was named the Economics Department Outstanding Student in 2015. He is also on the Dean’s Honor Roll. 
  • Jordan Rauser– Jordan is a Freshman from Canada majoring in Economics. He plays for the UCO Hockey team, which won the ACHA National Championship in 2015, and volunteers with a youth program at the Arctic Edge Ice Arena. He is on the President’s Honor Roll. 
  • Nerza Zambrano– Nerza is a Senior from Edmond majoring in Accounting and Finance. Her family emigrated from Venezuela to the United States six years ago. Nerza is a member of the honor society Gamma Beta Phi and was inducted into Delta Mu Delta, the Business honor society. She works part-time at the UCO Library and is a member of the Finance Club, the Accounting Club and the Ethics team. She is on the President’s Honor Roll and the Dean’s Honor Roll and has received numerous College of Business scholarships, including the Accounting Department Advisory Board Scholarship, the Dr. Chuck Stumbaugh Endowed Scholarship, the IBC Bank Scholarship, the Kay and Harold Jackson Endowed Scholarship and the Textbook Brokers Leadership Scholarship.
